Working in the SMLC with parents and their children
Having just spent part of the Easter holidays, with Laura Highfield and Tracy, working with the parents and children from Sundridge Children's Centre. We have been ovewhelemed at the great responses for using IT to bring all parties together in a fun and stimulating environment. The children took many photos of their enjoyment through their time at the centre and we have displayed them on a new window for all to have a look at. The children and parents were involved in making cards, bookmarks, leaflets, flyers, party invitations and many other computer based activities, some of whom had never even been near computer before. It always amazes me at how quickly the youngest of children 'get' IT and use it to make some incredible designs and have new ideas of how to get the best out of the technology. This project is an ongoing one, which supports Great Barr School's Science Specialism and is one I particularly enjoy being involved with!
